Are you ready to discover our city in a single day and at the end of it enjoy a drink together?
Would you like to experience a bit of everything, learn a lot yet enjoy it, and feel pressed for time?
I can make it happen and you’ll still end up having an amazing, insightful, and chill day.
In this tour, you’ll experience the best of what Bratislava has to offer, and some more.
What can you expect?
You’ll get a brief historical introduction to the city and Slovakia in general. We‘ll talk about the traditional food of this region, and we’ll pass by all of the note-worthy sites/monuments in the Old town. As we have the whole day for us, there is lots of time for discussion, how the life used to look like behind the Iron Curtain, how it was like growing in the 90s and more. On this tour in Bratislava, we cover really everything you need to know about my country.
How will we go about it?
We‘ll start our walking tour in the city centre, where we’ll visit the most prominent locations like Main square, the Slovak national theatre, and the St. Martin´s Cathedral – the site of the former Nealogue synagogue. From there, we’ll walk up to the Castle and circle back around to the city centre.
After 2 ½ hours of great fun, some of us – or more likely most of us – will be rather hungry and so we‘ll stop at a great spot to grab some lunch. If you won‘t mind, we‘ll try some Slovak cuisine and discuss our traditional dishes, desserts, and eating habits.
Once we replenish our energy, we’ll be ready to discover some more of our uniquely picturesque city!
Next, we’ll drive up to the Devin castle, which is – at least according to me – one of the most romantic, and oldest castles in Slovakia. Here, we shall spend about an hour or so, discovering its hidden beauties and treasures. Just under the castle, we’ll have the opportunity to see the Gate of Freedom Memorial, and I’ll take you back in time to the era of the Iron Curtain.
Are you keeping up?
Do you still have time for more?
Let´s go and make two more stops before wrapping this tour up.
Slavín, the WWII Memorial, is the burial spot of more than 6000 Soviet soldiers, who died liberating our city and the surrounding areas. It also comes with an incredibly stunning view!
On the way back to the city center, we shall make our last stop during which we‘ll pass by a building that – according to the English Telegraph- is the 17th ugliest building in the world!
Last, but not least, our tour will culminate at our fairytale-like Blue church! Can’t think of a better location to end your day, now full of memorable experiences and adventures. Definitely worth taking a picture next to, as a magical keepsake or to upload onto your Instagram…
This is the end, but I don’t offer goodbyes, so until we meet again!
